Promoted to wide receivers/passing game coordinator on Feb. 1, 2022. Joined the Packers on Feb. 1, 2019, as an offensive assistant and was promoted to wide receivers coach on March 12, 2020. In 2024, helped guide the Packers to top-10 rankings in total offense (No. 5, 370.8 ypg), yards per play (No. 5, 6.14), scoring (No. 8, 27.1 ppg) and explosive plays (No. 4, 136). Coached four wide receivers in 2022-23 who posted 35-plus catches, 400-plus receiving yards and three-plus receiving TDs as rookies (Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson in 2022, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks in 2023), the first time in NFL history that a team had four rookie WRs hit those marks over a two-season span. Tutored Reed in 2023, who set a franchise rookie record with 64 receptions and became the first rookie in NFL history to post 60-plus catches, 750-plus receiving yards (793), eight- plus receiving TDs (eight), 100-plus rushing yards (119) and multiple rushing TDs (two). In 2021, helped WR Davante Adams set single-season franchise records for receptions (123) and receiving yards (1,553) on his way to becoming the first Green Bay WR to earn first-team AP All-Pro honors in back-to-back years since Sterling Sharpe (1992-93). Tutored Adams in 2020 as he became the first player in NFL history with 100-plus receptions (115) and 18-plus receiving TDs in a season, with his 18 receiving TDs tying the single-season team record set by Sharpe in 1994. Spent the 2017-18 seasons as an offensive assistant with the N.Y. Jets, where he worked with Robby Anderson (63- 941) and Jermaine Kearse (65-810), one of only three WR duos in the NFL to both post 60-plus receptions and 800-plus receiving yards in 2017. Served as the interim running backs coach for the Bills for the final 15 weeks of the 2016 season, helping Buffalo rank No. 1 in the league in rushing offense (164.4 ypg), the team's best rushing average since 1976 (183.3 ypg).
Scheme & Fantasy Angle
Vrable runs the receiver room and passing game, having developed Davante Adams into back-to-back All-Pro seasons and a wave of productive rookie wideouts (Doubs, Watson, Reed, Wicks); his unit drives the Packers' WR fantasy value.
