GB Kyron Drones
NFL player. Position: QB. Team: GB.
Quick Facts
- Position: QB
- Team: GB (Green Bay Packers)
2026 Outlook
Undrafted rookie quarterback from Virginia Tech signed by Green Bay as a developmental project. Despite going undrafted, the Packers hosted him on a top-30 pre-draft visit, signaling legitimate interest. At over 220 pounds with excellent mobility and a powerful arm, Drones represents the modern dual-threat QB archetype increasingly coveted in the NFL. In 2024, he rushed for over 1,800 yards and 22 touchdowns while showcasing off-platform playmaking ability. Lost the QB3 training camp competition to Kyle McCord in August 2026. Drones struggled against Pittsburgh in preseason action, failing to complete a pass while taking three sacks in limited snaps. McCord's steady performance and composure in the pocket contrasted sharply with Drones' uneven showing, leading to his release shortly after the preseason opener. Though his raw athletic upside and improvisation skills offered higher ceiling potential, his passing consistency (under 60% completion in college) and mechanics under pressure proved limiting factors.
