2026 Outlook
Hakeem Butler signed with the Denver Broncos in June 2026 after winning UFL Offensive Player of the Year twice (2024-2025) with the St. Louis Battlehawks. With the Battlehawks in 2025, Butler had 641 receiving yards (UFL-best), 29 catches, and 22.1 yards per reception. He offers Sean Payton a big-bodied (6'5", 242 lbs) receiving option with experience and size (per Two-time UFL Offensive Player of the Year gets another NFL shot, signs with Broncos).
Butler's NFL journey has been marked by injuries and bad luck: missed entire 2019 rookie season with broken hand, bounced around practice squads, played two games with Eagles (2020), spent time with Steelers and Bengals. His UFL success in 2024-2025 earned him another training camp shot after the Bengals cut him pre-2025 season. Denver's coach Sean Payton has a history of favoring bigger, physical wide receivers, making Butler a potential fit in the offensive scheme alongside Jaylen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, and recent draft picks Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant.
Role / Depth Chart
