Background
Curtis Modkins is in his fourth season with the Minnesota Vikings as running backs/run game coordinator and 30th year coaching in 2025. Before joining the Vikings in 2022, he served as the running backs coach for the Denver Broncos for four seasons (2018-21). In 2024, Modkins coached RB Aaron Jones Sr. to career highs in rushing attempts (255) and rushing yards (1,138), with Jones cracking 1,000 yards to become just the third Viking to do so in his first season with the team, joining Chester Taylor (2006) and Adrian Peterson (2007).
Scheme & Fantasy Angle
As run game coordinator and running backs coach, Modkins directs Minnesota's backfield usage; his room helped the Vikings go 11-0 when out-rushing opponents in 2024 and produced a 1,000-yard season from Aaron Jones Sr., making his backfield a meaningful fantasy consideration.
