Background
Anthony Lynn enters his third season with the Commanders as Run Game Coordinator/Running Backs Coach. Lynn previously served as the Assistant Head Coach/Running Backs Coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2022-2023, where he worked with Christian McCaffrey. He was the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-20 and offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions in 2021. In 2025, Lynn worked closely with rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who led the team in rushing yards (805) and rushing touchdowns (8). In his first Washington season, he worked with Brian Robinson Jr., who posted career highs in rushing yards (799) and rushing touchdowns (8). Lynn entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 1992 and won two Super Bowls as a player (XXXII and XXXIII). A native of Celina, TX, he played collegiately at Texas Tech.
