The Raiders star the Cowboys are chasing is Maxx Crosby, the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher. Dallas specifically made multiple offers for Crosby this offseason and could keep pursuing him (from the Maxx Crosby page).
ESPN's Dan Graziano named the Cowboys as one of four teams most likely to land Crosby before the trade deadline, noting his health status in August will be the deciding factor. And just recently (July 3), Cowboys analyst Bryan Broaddus floated a blockbuster proposal — sending star wideout George Pickens plus a 1st-round pick to Vegas for Crosby (from the Crosby page).
The holdup? A failed physical killed a Ravens trade back in February, so Crosby needs to show he's fully recovered from meniscus surgery in training camp for his market to heat back up. Both the Cowboys' defense (dead last, 30.1 PPG allowed in 2025) and their pass rush desperately need a star, so the fit makes a ton of sense.
