Here's the full picture on what the Quenton Nelson trade means for the Seahawks:
On the offensive line: This is a massive upgrade. The Seahawks had the highest pressure rate allowed on the interior in the NFL, and Nelson has allowed just 6 pressures and 0 sacks through 7 games this season (from the Quenton Nelson page). The plan is to slot Nelson in at left guard, shift 2025 first-rounder Grey Zabel to right guard, and push Anthony Bradford to the bench. That instantly stabilizes the interior for Sam Darnold, who had been buried in a turnover spiral — three straight multi-INT games heading into the trade.
On the running backs: This is where it gets interesting. The Seahawks' backfield is already in flux:
- Jadarian Price (rookie 1st-rounder) was the presumed lead back but is currently on IR with a chest injury.
- Emanuel Wilson has been handling early-down work and broke out in Week 4 (21-81-1 rushing, 3-39-1 receiving).
- George Holani is splitting carries with Wilson while Price is out.
- Zach Charbonnet is still working back from ACL surgery — not expected until mid-November.
The Seahawks are also one of the four primary suitors for Jonathan Taylor at the trade deadline (from the Jonathan Taylor page). Pairing Taylor with Nelson — and giving Taylor gaping holes to run through — would "push Seattle's offense back to the league's upper echelon," per USA Today.
Fantasy takeaway: Nelson's presence improves any Seahawks RB's efficiency, but the committee is messy right now. Wilson and Holani get short-term bumps while Price (IR) and Charbonnet (ACL) are out. If they add Taylor, his stock skyrockets with Nelson paving the way. On FantasyPros, they noted that Price is the best runner in Seattle but just isn't getting enough opportunities right now — the O-line upgrade helps that math.
