2026 Outlook
Oct 22 — Emerging snap-share threat to Chase Brown; 50% snaps and 4.9 YPC in Week 5 raises committee concerns. Yahoo Sports' Week 7 start-sit analysis highlights Samaje Perine's increasing role in the Bengals' backfield. In Week 5 vs Miami, Perine handled 14 carries for 68 yards (4.9 YPC) and 2 receptions, playing 50% of snaps while chase Brown had 61%. This snap-share distribution and efficient performance suggest Perine could become a consistent threat to Brown's lead-back role, potentially evolving into a committee situation. For fantasy purposes, Perine is emerging as a waiver-wire consideration if the trend continues, though Brown remains the lead option (per Fantasy Football Week 7 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Saquon Barkley vs. Chase Brown).
