Quick Facts
- Position: Linebacker
- Team: DET (Detroit Lions)
- Profile: Green dot signal caller, high-volume tackle producer
2026 Outlook
Jack Campbell serves as Detroit's defensive leader and signal caller (green dot), delivering consistent week-to-week production. Expected to be a key anchor of the Lions' defense heading into the 2026 season. Signed to a 4-year, $81M extension ($51.5M guaranteed, $20.25M annually) through 2030, making him the second-highest paid off-ball linebacker behind Fred Warner (per Lions LB Jack Campbell signs 4-year, $81M extension).
IDP tier-1 targeting (June 25): IDP+ ranked Campbell as the top tier-1 linebacker for 2026 IDP drafts, describing him as "a locked-in leader who often wears the green dot and delivers consistent volume week after week." Recommended as an early IDP target (rounds 7-9) in mixed leagues. Analysis emphasizes his elite snap share and tackle accumulation as the Lions' primary signal caller (per 2026 IDP Draft Strategy Guide)
Disciplinary risk — three-strike rule (Oct 10): Campbell received his first strike under the NFL's new three-strike disciplinary system after being fined for a hip-drop tackle in Week 4. Two more qualifying violations (hip-drop tackles, horse-collar tackles, launching hits, hits on defenseless players, blindside blocks) will trigger an automatic one-game suspension. Campbell has a pattern of hip-drop tackles—he had penalized instances against the Giants (Nov 2025) and Bears (Jan 2026)—making the reduced margin for error a material risk to his availability. IDP managers should monitor his tackling technique closely (per Lions LB Jack Campbell is now two strikes away from an NFL suspension under a new league rule).
Role / Depth Chart
