PHI Fred Johnson
NFL player. Position: Offensive Tackle (OT). Team: Philadelphia Eagles.
Quick Facts
- Position: Offensive Tackle
- Team: Philadelphia Eagles
2026 Outlook
Johnson has value as experienced offensive tackles are difficult to find, and Philadelphia understands the importance of keeping depth around Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson. His spot is not automatic, however. Philadelphia has younger options competing to climb the depth chart, including Markel Bell, Cameron Williams, Hollin Pierce, and other developmental linemen. Johnson's size and experience make him a logical swing-tackle candidate, but the Eagles will use training camp to determine whether a younger player can close the gap. If Bell or Williams shows enough growth, Philadelphia could face a difficult decision between experience and long-term upside. Johnson's camp will be about proving he remains the safest emergency option on game day. (per 7 Eagles veterans facing increased competition this summer - Eagles Wire)
Role / Depth Chart
- Current role: Swing tackle, depth protection
- Ahead on depth chart: Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson
