NFL kicker. Position: K. Team: Los Angeles Rams.
Quick Facts
- Position: K (Kicker)
- Team: Los Angeles Rams (LAR)
- Status: Signed to replace Harrison Mevis, Oct 13, 2026
2026 Outlook
Joined Indianapolis mid-2025 season and went 11-for-11 on FGs over the final five games, including a franchise-record 60-yarder. Strong start to 2026 training camp: multiple practice sessions without a miss in front of media, hitting at 86% through all camp. However, preseason performances raised concerns: 0-for-2 through two games, including a miss from 36 yards (wide right) vs. ATL.
Sept. 1 — Jets waiver claim: Lost kicker competition to Spencer Shrader and was waived by Indianapolis. The Jets claimed Grupe off waivers and set up competition with incumbent Jason Sanders. Grupe had early edge given his strong 2025 finish (11-for-11 with the Colts) and franchise-record 60-yard make (per New York Jets Practice Squad and Waiver Wire Tracker 2026: Live updates and analysis).
Oct. 13 — Rams mid-season acquisition: Signed off Jets practice squad by Los Angeles Rams to replace kicker Harrison Mevis after his two critical misses in OT loss to Buffalo. Grupe's franchise-record 60-yarder and hot finish in 2025 earned him the opportunity to stabilize the Rams' special teams, but high-leverage situations will test whether his preseason struggles (0-for-2) resurface or if his mid-season form prevails (per Sources: Rams release kicker Mevis after miscues in loss, sign Grupe from Jets).
Injury Status
Healthy.
Role / Depth Chart
Competing with Jason Sanders for New York Jets starting kicker job.
