Was Kansas City's OC from 2018-2022, the four-year peak of the Mahomes/Reid offense (three Super Bowl trips, two wins). Left for Washington as OC in 2023, then went to Chicago as running backs coach in 2025. Rehired by Andy Reid to replace Matt Nagy (who went to Giants).
July 27 Family Matter
On July 27, his wife Mia Bieniemy was shot multiple times at their home in Ashburn, Virginia. His son Elijah Zion Bieniemy (age 27) was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of firearm in commission of felony, and discharge of firearm inside dwelling. Mia was transported to hospital and reported in stable condition. Eric was with the Chiefs at practice in St. Joseph, Missouri when the incident occurred. The Chiefs issued a statement: "The club is aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy's family. Out of respect for their privacy, we won't have a comment at this time.
