Yes — Josh Downs formally requested a trade from the Colts in late October, ahead of the November 10 deadline. He's grown frustrated with the roster direction: the Pittman trade, Pierce's injuries, and the Keenan Allen signing left him as the primary passing option on a deteriorating offense — all while watching Nelson and Buckner depart to contenders (from the Josh Downs page).
The Patriots are the most talked-about landing spot since QB Drake Maye and Downs were college teammates at North Carolina (94 rec, 1,029 yards, 11 TDs in one overlapping year). The Chiefs, 49ers, and Rams have also reportedly called. Through 7 games he had 26 rec/307 yards. On the request, Downs said: "I'm open to whatever. Whatever comes my way, comes my way."
