# Eric Murray

NFL safety. Position: **S**. Team: **Jacksonville Jaguars**.

## Quick Facts

- **Position:** Safety
- **Team:** Jacksonville Jaguars
- **Status:** Week 1 starter for 2026

## 2026 Outlook

Murray was brought in last year to stabilize the Jaguars' secondary and fared well, earning a Week 1 starting role. However, the team has depth waiting in the wings: Caleb Ransaw and rookie Jalen Huskey are competing for playing time. If either shows progress before the deadline, Jacksonville could trade Murray to make room, expecting to recoup a 5th-round pick in return (per 4-players-the-jaguars-could-trade-before-the-2026-nfl-deadline-black-and-teal).

## Role / Depth Chart

Starting safety alongside Antonio Johnson.

## Open Questions

- Will younger safety depth (Ransaw/Huskey) develop quickly enough to make Murray expendable?
