# Signals Engine (parked for v3)

A plan for a future feature that watches groups of X/Twitter accounts and fires an alert when the same player or event starts being talked about across multiple groups at once. Caught early, this gives the ChatFFB site a chance to post Reddit/X takes before mainstream news catches up — which drives traffic back.

This is parked. Not built yet. Get the wiki and the website running first, then come back to this.

## The Idea

Group fantasy-relevant X/Twitter accounts into buckets by what kind of info they have:

| Bucket | What they know first |
|---|---|
| Beat reporters (32 sub-buckets, one per team) | Practice intel, injury news, depth chart moves |
| Stats nerds (PFF, Next Gen Stats, etc.) | Usage trend shifts before mainstream notices |
| High-stakes daily fantasy players | Ownership pivots, contrarian plays |
| Dynasty community | Trade calculator moves, rookie hype |
| Sharp bettors | Prop line movement, game total moves |
| Scheme analysts (film grinders, OC watchers) | Formation changes, personnel grouping shifts |
| Mainstream media (ESPN, big podcasters) | Lagging — they confirm a story is mainstream |
| Reddit casuals | Also lagging |

When the same player gets mentioned by 3+ buckets in a short time window, that's a signal. Something is brewing before the mainstream catches up.

## What Happens When a Signal Fires

1. Alert hits a Slack channel or a chatffb.com dashboard
2. CJ (or the agent) writes a quick take on Reddit and X with the synthesis
3. Link in the post drives traffic to chatffb.com
4. Wiki page for that player gets the new sources attached automatically

## Why This Works

Fantasy players follow whoever has the info first. You don't need to be right every time, you need to be early every time. The pipeline does the research, the human writes the post. Every post drives curiosity traffic to the site.

## Build Order (when we get to it)

1. Curate ~500 X/Twitter accounts grouped into buckets
2. Tweet ingestion job (extends the existing source pipeline)
3. AI categorization of tweets into signal types (injury, usage, scheme, etc.)
4. Cross-bucket convergence scoring
5. Alert delivery (Slack channel)
6. Pre-formatted post templates for Reddit, X, TikTok
