Kyle Shanahan was named the 20th head coach of the San Francisco 49ers on February 6, 2017. Shanahan signed a multi-year contract extension with the 49ers in September of 2023.

The 2024 San Francisco 49ers saw DL Nick Bosa, FB Kyle Juszczyk, TE George Kittle and LB Fred Warner selected to the Pro Bowl, with Warner earning Associated Press First-Team All-Pro and Juszczyk and Kittle earning Second-Team All-Pro honors.
