Barrett Ruud was named Atlanta Falcons inside linebackers coach on Feb. 2, 2024. In 2024 he led a linebacker unit in which Kaden Elliss posted a career-best 151 tackles with five-plus sacks and Troy Andersen earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Ruud arrived with eight years of collegiate coaching experience, most recently as inside linebackers coach at his alma mater, Nebraska (2018-22), and earlier at UCF. As a player he was a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and recorded 658 tackles over an eight-year NFL career; he finished his Nebraska career with a program-record 432 tackles.
